By raising their prices they made the Mountain Dew that I buy in the 2-Liter bottles unreasonable. I'm not paying almost $4.00 a bottle for that stuff even though I love it.
I was drinking 1 bottle every two days (2 big glasses per 10 hour shift), at $3.00 each that was $45 per month just on soda... that's $45 that I'll now have for something else. Maybe we'll have steak once a month now.

Anyone else got any stories of companies pricing you out of using them / their services or product?

Carbonated sugar water is not any good for you, anyway. Especially that much of it.
Pepsi did your health a favor, as well as your wallet.

I don't know the company but we did buy paper plates since we don't have a proper kitchen and thus no easy way to do dishes. However, the company nearly doubled the price on them so we figured out how to do without them. Better for the environment. Better for our wallets.
Reddy Ice went from 10 lb bags to 7 lb bags and raised their prices an average of 50 cents. Hubby's birthday was coming up and the in-laws wanted to know what he wanted. He asked for and got an ice machine. Now Reddy Ice sees $0 of our money. I'm sure they don't miss it but we enjoy not giving it to them.

You would be shocked at how much of the stuff I USED to drink "back in the day" (as the saying goes). It was nothing for me to drink 2½ to 3 of the 2 liters, a day

It was nothing for me to drink 2½ to 3 of the 2 liters, a day I used to drink liters of Coke back in the day. Then I started working outside on the golf course and realized I needed to stay hydrated, so I gave up Coke cold turkey and started drinking water. That was almost 25 years ago. I've maybe had five or ten soft drinks since then, and a lot of those were the supposed "Coke and Aspirin" migraine fixers.

I like flavored sparkling water. Buy a soda streamer, you could use crystal light, citrus juice, fruit juice I believe. Also purchase a pitcher with a tube to put in lime, lemon, cucumbers and mint to infuse the flavors into the water, tastes wonderful, Ice drinks are good too.

I actually had a Soda Stream... ended up getting rid of it because nothing tasted "quite right" when the carbonation process was included (carbonate the water first, then add the mix). Their Soda, for example, was not bad when flat, but when carbonated it tasted... "off".... to me anyway.

I no longer use dryer sheets or liquid/pod detergent, because it's all a scam and a huge waste of money. Soap flakes, oxygen bleach, and dryer balls will save you a hundred dollars a year or more, depending on how much laundry you do. And no more dry cleaning ever, also a scam. That'll save hundreds, too, if you dry clean stuff. There's a better, cheaper way to clean everything.
Can't remember if I posted about this before or not. But the book Laundry Love and various blogs and interviews with the author, Patric Richardson, has changed the way I do laundry and saved me a bunch of money.

I only use dryer sheets to freshen the air by placing a few over my A/C's filter. 1 box lasts me about 3 years (I have two "returns" to cover for the main unit and a "window A/C" unit... so three places that need sheets).

We now use the leftover dryer sheets we had to stuff in the corners of the garage to keep the mice out, and in our shoes in the closets. I keep some in my bathroom to wipe on my hairbrush if there's a lot of static electricity. My husband keeps some under the seat in his pickup, which tends to get a little smelly.
